How to use
VeinPlanner is designed to fit naturally into a post-duplex consultation workflow.
Import the ultrasound report
Paste the report text to let VeinPlanner parse and draw the findings automatically, then review and apply only what you want.
Refine with pathology tools
Adjust the imported map or work manually from the toolbar: Reflux, DVT, SVT, Obstruction, Varicose, Previous Surgery, or Neovascularization.
Tap a vein area
Tap any vein area on the anatomical diagram to apply the finding. A prompt lets you add vein diameter and clinical details.
Toggle layers
Show or hide deep, superficial, and perforator layers to reduce visual clutter using the layer controls.
Remove a finding
Tap the cursor icon to enter Select mode, then tap any marked finding to remove its annotation.
Reuse a pathology template
Pro users can save common pathology patterns from the toolbar and load them into a fresh sketch when the same pattern appears again.
Generate & export
Use the Report panel to generate an AI-assisted clinical summary. Export the full venous map as a PDF or share it directly with patients or colleagues.
Switch to treatment mode
Toggle to Treatment Mode to access surgical planning tools. Choose between Conventional (direct finding treatment) or CHIVA (hemodynamic correction) strategies.
Plan your treatment
In Conventional mode, assign treatments (EVLA, RFA, sclerotherapy, etc.) to diseased findings. In CHIVA mode, mark escape/re-entry points and selective interruptions for hemodynamic correction.

Updated venous nomenclature consensus
VeinPlanner uses the international venous nomenclature consensus (IUP 2002/2005, updated by the VEIN-TERM consensus in 2009) in every language. Vessels use the standardized descriptive names — great and small saphenous vein rather than the older "magna/parva" or "long/short" eponyms — and the femoral vein is never called "superficial femoral vein", a banned misnomer for what is a deep vein.
